ACMI reveals a little of its darker side when Thursday nights come alive with a weird, wonderful and whimsical program that captures the spirit of Burton.

Burton Club launches with a carnivalesque program featuring Ensemble Las Medusas (formerly Croque Monsieur), DJ Phil Ransom and sword-swallower Baroness Micsha.

Experience a hellfire mix of pulsating rhythms from Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies, scary skeletons courtesy of the Snuff Puppets and Zombie hula hoopers Hoopnotised.

Pete and the Tar Gang will mesmerise with sodden sea shanties, and hula hoop Burlesque artist Judith Lanigan will transform into the Dying Swan.

Celebrate the dead, Mexican style, with songs from Mariachi Los Románticos and The Newly Deads, and be hypnotised by Hoopnotised, our resident zombie hoopers.

Melbourne artists Dropbear (Jonathan Chong) and Spoonbill (Jim Moynihan) create a vision and sound collage, drawing on the films and influences of Tim Burton.

The Tiger and Me perform their unique brand of European folk-inspired indie pop, and Judith Lannigan returns with an encore of the haunting and comic Dying Swan.
