How do you lose an 11,564 kilogram elephant?

John Johnson and Rodney the Elephant are a world-renowned circus duo. After much

anticipation, the Melbourne premiere is moments away. There’s just one problem... Rodney is

missing.

But the show must go on. Eternally optimistic Johnson attempts to perform the show without

his gargantuan sidekick. How can he distract the audience from the elephant not in the room?

This buoyant, physical comedy artfully combines the traditions of the vaudevillian street clown

with rich and moving storytelling. Rodney. Missing. is a poignant and often absurd

exploration of friendship and the power of imagination.

Following a successful season at the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Festival, this highly visual and

interactive performance for all ages returns for the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy

Festival and is available for schools, festivals and events.

Local writer/performer Cam Venn (Cave Mann Productions), recipient of the 2009 Western

Edge Mentorship, has a wealth of experience creating and performing kids theatre. For the

past nine years he has toured Australia with Vox Bandicoot – a leader in community and

educational theatre. He is also a regular performer with Impro Melbourne.

John Johnson’s search for Rodney is touching and hilarious. Can you help him find Rodney?

“ delightful, refreshing and very funny” Northcote Town Hall
